Under the general direction of the Public Works Operations Supervisor, the Streets/Stormwater Maintenance Foreman performs responsible work involving the supervision and management of the construction, repair, and maintenance of the City’s Streets and Stormwater Division of the Public Works Department. Responsibilities include the supervision of employees in subordinate positions. Performs and manages daily activities associated with the maintenance of the streets and stormwater systems in accordance with all applicable City codes and Departmental policies. Duties are performed with independence. Requires the ability to be contacted by telephone for call-out after hours. Work is reviewed through reports, observations, and obtained results.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of the principles, philosophies, and practices of streets and stormwater process administration.
Knowledge of management and supervisory techniques.
Ability to plan, prioritize, schedule and supervise the work of others.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other City Departments, subordinates, superiors, other public agencies, and vendors.
Ability to review, analyze, and interpret data.
Skill in the presentation of information, both written and oral.
Knowledge of safety practices and safety equipment.
Knowledge of project and program management.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from high school; or GED, two (2) years supervisory responsibility in a streets and/or stormwater environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Possession of Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification, Sediment and Erosion Control Certification, and Florida Stormwater Association (FSA) Level 1 required. Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License, with Tanker Endorsement or ability to obtain CDL Permit with six (6) months from date of hire, and valid CDL with proper endorsements within eighteen (18) months from date of hire.
