DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County Parks & Recreation

HIRING RANGE: $23.35-$28.55/hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

POSITION TO BE FILLED After July 6, 2026

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: 40 hours/week

LOCATION OF POSITION: OxBow Park/Other parks as assigned

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Between Parks (please complete driving page on application)

Job Summary

Responsibilities for maintaining park facilities, grounds, and equipment, and protecting park lands and visitors.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED with 1 year of related work experience for Park I and 2 years of post-secondary education in related field for Park II
Be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license
Ability to operate various vehicles/equipment/tools in the performance of duties
Working knowledge of and ability to make practical application of department policies and procedures, County ordinances, and applicable OHSA safety policies and procedures
Ability to work professionally with the public and as a team with other staff
Pre-employment background check and drug screen
