The 24hr Response area in Child Protection is hiring a limited duration Social Work Unit Supervisor to provide floor supervisor duties related to intake, screening, and rapid response. The position will supervise the overall processing and assignment of child protection reports and provide support to the Rapid Response Team (RRT) staff during responses of immediate safety concerns for children. This position will not supervise direct reports but will provide supervisory guidance to all 24hr Response area staff working in hours overlapping with the floor supervisor.

Location and hours:

This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours will be regularly scheduled as Monday 5pm-10pm and Friday 5pm-10pm. An additional 10 hours may be scheduled (up to 20 total hours weekly) during evenings or weekends based on coverage needs for the area and will be approved by the program manager as needed. While this position is designated as remote, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position, you will:

Review, evaluate, provide feedback, and approve child maltreatment reports for decisions and disposition.
Support the vision and strategic direction of the department and county.
Coordinate resources, monitor, and prioritize work of the 24hr Response area during high volume call-times.
Review decisions and support staff in effort to reduce racial disparities and disproportionality that occur at the time of screening child maltreatment reports.
Support Rapid Response staff as they engage in direct field practice with children and families identified for an immediate safety response.
Support staff in providing one on one education about child maltreatment guidelines for reporters via consultation.
Provide feedback to staff or their direct supervisor regarding quality and accuracy of child maltreatment reports, allegation identification and screening decision, and adherence to 24hr Response area policies and practices.

Need to have:

One of the following:
- Master's degree or higher in social work or closely related field (or licensed as a graduate social worker by the Minnesota Board of Social Work) and three years or more of experience as a social worker.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or human services, and 27 quarter credits or more of graduate work in areas such as social work methods, human growth and behavior, principles of social welfare, and four years or more of supervised experience as a social worker.
- Six years or more of experience as a Senior/Psychiatric/Child Protection Social Worker at Hennepin County.
A valid driver's license and daily access to reliable transportation to travel primarily within/outside of the metro area to meet with clients in their residential settings and/or perform authorized off-site work duties.

- In the intake area of child protection or call-center supervisory experience.
- Addressing racial equity, gender equity, LGBTQIA equity, neurodiversity equity, and/or differing ability equity, either professionally or through education.
Ability to:
- Foster an environment that recognizes and respects cultural, lifestyle, and socioeconomic differences.
- View daily work with staff for growth and development, while identifying coaching opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including other emergency responders such as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and law enforcement.
Knowledge of Child Maltreatment and Screening Guidelines published by the Department of Children, Youth and Families, along with current legislative update.
