Starting Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour

Job Summary
Under general direction, this employee will monitor the activities occurring in the Expect Excellence Art Classroom. This will include maintaining equipment, monitoring user safety, maintaining order, and dispensing items as needed. This employee will be required to lead classes for students.
Art Instructors must possess excellent organization, communication, and leadership skills, as well as possess a strong moral character as they will act as role models for students. They will be responsible for developing thought-provoking lesson plans for each class throughout the semester and must possess flexibility and creativity in order to keep students’ attention and make each class educational and engaging. They will work directly with the Art Coordinator to create lesson plans and supply lists, monitor replenishing needs, and to submit hours, class sizes, and project photographs each day.

Essential functions:
SUPERVISION
Supervise classroom of students in an art skills instructional setting (visual arts, graphic design, performing arts, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The comprehension of and a detailed working knowledge of the particular specialized
art medium (visual arts, graphic design, theater arts, etc.)
Ability to perform with, relate to and instruct all ages of elementary school students
Advanced education in specific art medium and competence in instructionmanagerial
skill to the degree the job necessitates.
Qualifications:

Possess a valid Driver’s License
Experience and education in specific art related field in visual arts, graphic design and theater arts.

Education and experience:
Possess a High School Diploma
Physical demands:
Work requires frequent physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities.
Work environment:
Work involves educational instruction in a classroom setting as well as individualized instruction.
