Under direct supervision, assists in processing and cataloging library material and maintaining the library’s online database. Provides back-up for Information Desk services.WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEX:
• Performs copy cataloging of new materials using LCSH, RDA, USMARC, and the Dewey Decimal System.
• Conducts bibliographic searches using online databases.
• Assists in maintaining the library’s online collection database.
• Assists in maintaining quality control of bibliographic and authority records.
• Provides backup for Information Desk services.
• Assists in maintaining the library collection.
• Provides departmental clerical support using copier, fax, personal computer, laminator, and other office machines.
• Informs supervisor of all work related activities.
• Adheres to departmental, personnel, and safety rules and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Some college or equivalent experience in a related field is required.

Work Experience:
• One year of public library experience is preferred.

Must submit to and pass a post-offer, non-regulated drug test and thorough background checks (including criminal history). • Able and willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekend hours.
• Knowledge of the practices and principles of public library operations.
• Excellent English communicative skills, both oral and written, to include spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Skilled in using a personal computer and various other office equipment.
• Must be able to maintain good relations with the public and staff and demonstrate courtesy and tact in all situations.
• Must be able to understand and carry out oral and written directives, work well under pressure and stress, handle multiple tasks, prioritize and organize work assignments, maintain a pleasant and friendly demeanor at all times.
