WHAT WE OFFERThe County of Ventura offers an attractive compensation and benefits package. Aside from our base salary range, an employee within this position will also be eligible for the following:
- Educational Incentive: Incumbents may be eligible for an educational incentive of 2.5%, 3.5%, or 5% based on completion of an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree that is not required for the classification.
- Bilingual Incentive: Incumbents may also be eligible for bilingual incentive depending upon operational need and certification of skill.
- Vacation Accrual: Initially approximately 14 days of vacation per year increasing to 19 days at 5 years of services, 21 days at 12 years of services, 22 days at 13 years of services, 23 days at 14 years of services, 25 days at 15 years of services and topping out at 26 days per year at 20 years of service.
- Vacation Redemption: After approximately 7 years of services ability to “cash in” or redeem up to 80 hours of vacation accrued in the current year after using 80 hours in the preceding 12 months.
- Deferred Compensation: Eligible to participate in the County's 401(k) Shared Savings Plan and/or the Section 457 Plan. This position is eligible for up to a 3% match on your 401(k) contributions.
- Health Plans: Full time employees are afforded a flexible credit allowance for purchasing medical, dental, and/or vision insurance from a group of authorized plans: For Plan Year 2025 tier one for employee only is $509 per biweekly pay period, tier two for employee plus one is $779 per biweekly pay period and tier three for employee plus family is $983 per biweekly pay period.
- Flexible Spending Accounts: Pre-tax benefit towards eligible medical, dental, and vision care expenses.
- Pension Plan: Participation in the County's defined benefit pension plan. If eligible, you may establish reciprocity with other public retirement systems such as CalPERS.
- Holidays: 12 paid days per year which includes a scheduled floating holiday.

THE DEPARTMENTThe Ventura County Behavioral Health Department (VCBH) provides mental health and substance use treatment services. VCBH plays an important role as an integrated component of the Ventura County Health Care Agency.
THE POSITIONUnder direction, provides technical assistance to department/ agency personnel by supporting and coordinating tasks related to office automation systems; develops systems procedures; analyzes, designs and writes micro-computer programs; and performs related work as required.
Office Systems Coordinator II is represented by the Services Employee International Union (SEIU) and is eligible for overtime compensation.

- Coordinates software product and hardware configuration and installation of individual personal computers and/or local area networks and data communications.
- Troubleshoots ongoing Health Care Agency (HCA) Behavioral Health (BH) Department problems associated with automated office systems and refers repairs to Information Technology Services Department (ITSD) staff.
- Responsible for vendor liaison, and coordination of technical evaluation of products and product procurement with ITSD.
- Provides data communication analysis and support.
- Provides technical assistance for user interface of office systems and large computer systems with ITSD.
- Performs feasibility studies, minor systems design and micro-computer application development as required by the HCA BH Department.
- Provides occasional systems maintenance and repair.
- Develops systems procedures for HCA BH Department users.
- Trains HCA BH Department personnel on automated office systems use.
- May assist HCA BH Department management in establishing priorities and planning office automation needs.
- Analyzes, designs and develops micro-computer programs.
- Other related duties as required.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCEConsiderable experience in automated office systems coordination which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
The required knowledge, skills and abilities also can be obtained by completion of pertinent office systems coursework with three (3) or more years of related experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSPossession of and ability to maintain a California driver license.
Experience with:
- Office procedures related to automated equipment
- Software and hardware products related to office automation
- Working independently
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with others
DESIREDPossession of an A+ Certification
Possession of a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Certificate
Experience with:
- Supporting individual personal computers in a healthcare environment
- Serving as a vendor liaison coordinating technical evaluation of products and product procurement
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThorough knowledge of: modern office procedures and automated equipment; micro-computer programming and systems design; software and hardware products and their use in office automation; vendor liaison and coordination of technical evaluation of products and product procurement.
Working ability to: perform abstract reasoning; make arithmetic calculations rapidly and accurately; perform minor systems maintenance/repairs; independently and responsibly perform assigned duties; develop and maintain effective working relations with diverse stakeholders, such as management, employees, vendors, and other technology resources; understand and work with personal business computers in the office environment; perform standard analysis and programming tasks for the purpose of automating office procedures; develop and support the concept of data communications networking of personal office computers in relation to mini- and mainframe computers.

ELIGIBLE LIST
Candidates successfully completing the examination process may be placed on an eligible list for a period of one (1) year. The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill current and future Regular (including Temporary and Fixed-Term), Intermittent, and Extra Help vacancies for this or similar positions only within the Health Care Agency Behavioral Health Department. There is currently one (1) regular vacancy.
