Brief Description
THIS POSITION IS FOR EDDY COUNTY EMPLOYEES ONLY:
The station Lieutenant shall be sworn firefighting position. Upon acceptance of this position the selected applicant shall be required to pass an NFPA 1583 physical and will be required to pass this physical annually along with passing the required annual physical assessments. The Lieutenant shall be responsible and shall aid volunteers in the assigned area. The Lieutenant shall assure that the crew conduct training, maintain stations and apparatus, complete incident reports, public relations, all other required documentation, and all other duties as assigned by the Fire Chief or designee. The Lieutenant shall be responsible for coordinating with the Shift Captain to assure adequate staffing is available for emergency response. This position will work a 48 hour on duty/96 hour off duty schedule. Employee must perform all duties with minimal supervision. Employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend job related meetings both in and out of town, and perform other duties as assigned.
