$3,179.63 to $3,497.59 biweekly. Actual salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Rockledge/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs professional environmental engineering work overseeing environmental assessment and remediation projects for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP). Work includes developing site-specific scopes of work, oversight of field activities, technical review of assessment and remediation reports, and project tracking in various databases.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering with coursework relating to the area of assignment (e.g. Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, etc.). Engineering Intern/Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred. [An Engineering Intern/Engineer in Training (EIT) is a person who has graduated from an engineering curriculum approved by the Board of Professional Engineers and who has passed the fundamentals of the engineering examination as provided by the rules adopted by that Board.]
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
