Responsibilities - What you’ll do
Operate a large tractor trailer rig to pick up and/or deliver vocational enterprises products or other materials/supplies to various locations within the State of Missouri
Loads, unloads, and performs necessary handling operations in connection with products being transported / Ability to lift, move, and stack heavy objects / Ensure freight is handled professionally and delivered to the appropriate location
Maintain appropriate logs, mileage tracing, duel consumption, and other paperwork as required
Maintains truck and equipment by checking oil, tires, safety equipment, trailer connection, etc. / ensure problems are reported to the appropriate staff in writing to ensure repairs are completed
Takes photos, prepares memos, or has conversations with customers (if available) regarding any issue that may arise on the route / Supervision of an offender worker who will accompany the driver to several area hospitals for pick-up and delivery of laundry / Performs work independently within established guidelines / Receives general administration direction
Must operate state vehicles in a safe, courteous manner and abide by all posted speed limit and traffic control regulations / Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others / Ability to carry out instructions
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a Class A CDL license
One or more years of experience in the operation of a tractor trailer; AND possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency; and a Class A commercial driver’s license

Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager.
The Department of Corrections is the only State agency that currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of service up to 20 years.
