GENERAL PURPOSE
Under the general supervision of the Executive Assistant, performs secretarial duties and clerical work.
Essential Functions
- Performs general receptionist duties, such as:
- Leads in Marketing and Branding for the Parks and Recreation Department.
- Develops and updates flyers, manages social media, updates website, calendar, updates activity information, sends out advertisement notifications and implements marketing strategies.
- Types materials, operates computer, information processing and maintains records and files.
- Treats all citizens in all forms of communication, in a personable, pleasant, professional manner.
- front lines in assisting customers to answer questions or connecting them with the appropriate contact.
- When necessary, assist the Recreation Supervisor and Coordinators with program organization.
- Works directly with the public with registrations and transactions.
- Will need to be flexible with hours. Occasional work outside of the office location will be required as well as occasional evenings and weekends as needed for special events and assignments.
- Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality requirements for this position.
- Must abide by all city policies and procedures.
- Must work well with others and be a team player.
- Applicants will be required to submit to a criminal background check and drug test.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent with at least one (1) year of office experience.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities- Must have knowledge in the following;
- Skill in the operation of computers and programs such as; Word, Excel, Google Doc, Google Sheets and Adobe Acrobat.
- Must be organized and able to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Effective social and public relations skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, fellow workers and supervisors.
- Must be capable of learning;
- New software programs such as, but not limited to; Internal software, Caselle, Everbridge, JotForm, Podium, and SFcityTix.
- 10 Key by touch
- Skill in the use of a variety of office machines and computers
- Basic bookkeeping procedures
- Knowledge of the City and events to answer various questions regarding the Parks & Recreation department.

Salary: $16.81 - $25.22 per hour
