Job Posting: Chief of Police
The Town of Jamestown is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to serve as Chief of Police. This is a leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the police department in a small municipality.
Qualifications
- Must be certified as a Level 1 Law Enforcement Officer through the South Carolina Police Academy (SCPA).
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Law Trak software is required.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage a team and work collaboratively with local government and community stakeholders.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and community service.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the police department, including personnel, budgeting, and administrative functions.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, as well as departmental policies and procedures.
- Foster positive relationships with community members and other local agencies.
- Lead crime prevention efforts and community-oriented policing initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records using Law Trak software.
