Job Responsibilities
Along the rolling, wooded shoreline of the 71,000-acre Strom Thurmond Reservoir, sits Hickory Knob, a full-service, lakeside South Carolina golf resort and remote state park all rolled into one.
Tucked away in a serene, remote location, the parks many amenities and recreational opportunities are a pleasant surprise for many. Hickory Knob operates an 18-hole championship golf course, buffet restaurant, skeet shooting, boat ramp, archery range, meeting facilities and more than 70 lodge-style rooms. This South Carolina golf resort is an ideal location for a family getaway, reunion or a business meeting or retreat.
Job Purpose And Duties
To effectively oversee and coordinate multiple administrative and operational aspects of Hickory Knob State Resort Park. Position carries full authority of Park Manager in his/her absence.
- Coordinates and oversees administration and operation of Hickory Knob and Baker Creek campgrounds.
- Assists and Supervises Maintenance Supervisor and coordinates park facilities and grounds maintenance needs and ensures they are completed.
- Coordinates and oversees the administration and operation of all Overnight Accommodations, Rental Facilities, and Equipment.
- Coordinates and oversees primary administrative activities and processes.
- Assists Park Manager in managing the overall business aspects of the park in relation to profitability.
- Assists park manager to direct all staff to ensure that all operations are conducted in accordance with established procedures, policies and guidelines.
- Practice and promote teamwork within the work unit/office, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders. Represents office as an active member on agency teams assigned throughout the year.
- Employee will be required to live in designated park housing to provide for security, safety and emergency response.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Park Administration, Business Management or related field and 2 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to coordinate multiple administrative and operational aspects of a large State Park operation and perform related activities, with detailed knowledge of related processes, procedures and guidelines. Ability to effectively coordinate the activities of subordinates. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and interact positively with customers. Skills necessary to effectively receive, formulate and disseminate information within various applications through the agency's computer network, and operate various types of office equipment.
- Must possess a valid S.C. Driver's License.

Full-time, 40 hours per week rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
