Location: Calera, Oklahoma
The Town of Calera is seeking a dedicated, community-focused law enforcement professional to serve as our next Chief of Police. This leadership role is responsible for planning, directing, supervising, and overseeing all activities of the Police Department, in coordination with the Town Board of Trustees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to all police personnel, including Patrol Officers, Animal Control, and Reserve Officers.
- Oversee daily policing operations, enforce departmental policies, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage departmental budgets, equipment procurement, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies, local government officials, and community stakeholders to enhance public safety and trust.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and statistics, keeping the Town Board informed of departmental needs and progress.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a certified police officer, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
- Current CLEET certification (or ability to obtain) and a commitment to ongoing continuing education requirements.
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong ability to foster community relationships and uphold the department's public image.
- Experience managing budgets, resources, and personnel effectively.
