Community Assisted Response & Engagement (CARE) is actively recruiting 911 Emergency Communications Supervisor(s) within the Operations Unit. This is a rare opening to work in a supervisor position for our innovative department in an environment where you can put all your existing skills to use, while learning new techniques in a highly motivated team environment.
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager(s), you will supervise the work of subordinate staff; plan, organize, and schedule work as appropriate. Other tasks may include developing work procedures; researching; and completing other special projects; resolves complex or unusual problems; and has authority when speaking on the radio.
Examples of Duties include:
- Prioritize and assign work to subordinates.
- Prepare staffing schedules.
- Monitor and provide oversight and support to subordinate personnel, which include quality assurance reviews and performance evaluations.
- Perform staff transfers, training, corrective action plans and disciplinary actions.
- Research and respond to complaints and inquiries from the public and customer agencies.
- Develop and uphold policies and procedures. Performs appropriate notifications and dissemination of information for reportable events.
- Monitors call volumes and makes necessary operation adjustments.
- Perform Call Taker and Dispatcher duties when needed. Perform other clerical duties as necessary, or as assigned.
Minimum of three years increasingly responsible communication center dispatching experience, including two years supervisory experience and/or experience providing technical training, and a high school diploma (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).
The full salary range for this position is $58.28 - $67.80 per hour.
