The City of Aiken is seeking a Court Technician to join our City Manager's Office in the Municipal Court Division.
- Operates a computer and software to enter various Municipal Court items including tickets, bond paperwork, printing of NRVC notices, etc.
- Performs receptionist duties; greets public entering building and offers assistance; answers telephone and takes messages, forwards to appropriate party, or responds to questions, concerns, or complaints from knowledge of departmental procedures
- Receives and receipts ticket and warrant payments; balances, accounts for, and completes deposit receipt for monies
- Prepares and organizes case materials for City Court
- Maintains and updates files, reports, and other departmental papers; indexes and files documents and correspondence alphabetically, numerically, or by other designated classification
- Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with other City departments and the general public contacted in the course of work; assists in resolving problems or complaints
- Processes outgoing mail
- Fills in for other employees as needed
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two years general clerical experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Knowledge of Court practices (preferred)
- One year of technical/vocational training (preferred)
