About the Role
The Information Technology (IT) Director directs the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of business operations to improve cost effectiveness and service quality. This position provides oversight of overall IT operations including updating and management of IT plan, IT system selection and design, policy and procedure management, project management, budgeting, end user technical support, development and implementation of user training program, network system troubleshooting and maintenance, knowledge of healthcare applications and systems.
Responsibilities
- Leads operational planning to achieve organizational goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future systems across the organization.
- Ensures continuous delivery IT services with end users and monitoring of IT systems performance.
- Coordinates and/or performs hands-on support at all levels of infrastructure across the organization; including desktop, server, network, and telecommunications level.
- Software and hardware installations and upgrades, firmware updates, backups management, and configuring systems and applications.
- Develops and manages the organization’s information security program, including risk assessments and oversight of end user training.
- Customer service focus with the ability to clearly articulate technical details to end users.
- Develops and tracks the IT annual operating and capital budgets.
- Key contributor in the selection and installation of major technology systems.
- Supervises department staff and their development.
- Lifecycle management of end user systems, servers, network, and backup equipment.
- Management of third-party vendor relationships.
- Project management responsibility for IT projects and representation of IT department for organizational initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with and development of IT Department policies and procedures with annual review.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field or minimum of five years Information Systems experience, hospital setting preferred. Personnel management and leadership experience, including employee recruitment and development. Support experience of end user, server, network, and telecommunications systems. Ability to plan for and manage enterprise-wide technology change. Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience preferred. Knowledge of cybersecurity technology and trends. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with report writing. Industry-specific certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, ITIL, or PMP preferred.
