Develops, organizes, and implements programs to promote and market the Community Activity Center and the Parks and Recreation Department.• Creates a variety of marketing pieces promoting all aspects of the Community Activity Center, including programs, memberships, rentals, and special events, through multiple print and electronic media platforms.

  • Supervises the Community Activity Center building during regular weekly shifts.
  • Assists with supervision of tot drop, concessions, and front desk areas, including part-time staff.
  • Develops and implements programs designed to enhance the Community Activity Center sales and memberships.
  • Supervises and organizes all facility rentals and birthday parties including phone calls, tours, booking, staffing, and event follow-up.
  • Works as a system administrator to the Parks and Recreation Services Department's registration software.
  • Leads and demonstrates high quality customer service and assists with the operation of the front desk.
  • Assists in the budgeting process, including purchasing of supplies and reconciliation of credit card purchases.
  • Assists with the implementation of other Parks and Recreation programs as needed.
  • Informs supervisor of all work-related activities.
  • Adheres to the personnel, safety, and departmental policies and procedures of the Town.
  • Assists co-workers and other departments as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation, Physical Education, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business, or related field is required.
  • Must have a valid state issued driver's license and driving record must be in compliance with Town policy.

Work Experience

  • In lieu of degree, must have six (6) years of experience as a Recreation Coordinator, Programs Coordinator, Special Events Coordinator, or related position.

Skills

Must submit to and pass a post-offer, non-regulated drug test and thorough background checks (including criminal history).KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • Must have experience with design software, including Adobe Creative Suite products.
  • Must have excellent leadership, organizational, training and communicative skills, both oral and written.
  • Must maintain an effective and pleasant working relationship with citizens, the general public, employees, and volunteers.
  • Must be able to work various hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Physical Abilities

  • Must be able to talk, see, hear, write, read, and work in adverse environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to perform strenuous physical activities to include running, kneeling, bending, twisting, dragging, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. of sport and various equipment.
