Brunswick County is seeking a Fleet Services Manager to oversee the operations of the Fleet Services Department. This role involves supervising a team responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment. The Fleet Services Manager will ensure all automotive equipment is maintained efficiently to prevent delays in other departments and will manage the acquisition, repair, and maintenance of the county’s fleet.
In addition to supervising and assigning tasks, the manager will handle customer complaints, ensure safety compliance, and manage fleet management software. Other responsibilities include overseeing contract services, managing fuel sites and generators, handling vehicle acquisitions and disposals, and maintaining GPS systems in county vehicles. The manager will also perform lifecycle analysis and recommend fleet replacement schedules.
The ideal candidate will have experience in fleet management and mechanical repair, strong leadership skills, and proficiency with fleet management software. The role also requires the ability to handle employee performance, resolve issues, and ensure the department operates in line with county policies and safety standards.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business management and/or at least five years in a fleet management position; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
ASE automotive and medium duty truck certification preferred.Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment. Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
