JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directly to County Architect, responsible for developing, managing, and executing various minor construction projects for the Williamson County Facilities Management Department. Level I of III in Project Managers. 

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

  • Develops and manages budgets, schedules, work plans and resource requirements for various construction projects
  • Develops construction solicitations and evaluates proposals and qualifications
  • Develops construction contracts and manages contract compliance by contractors
  • Monitors and supervises project quality control efforts and deliverables to ensure project is completed efficiently and effectively
  • Visits construction worksites and evaluates progress
  • Prepares and reviews reports related to warranty claims and assists with catastrophic insurance claims
  • Serves as department liaison with vendors, agencies, contractors, and the public regarding facility inquiries 
  • Attends all trainings and meeting as required
  • Performs special duties as assigned

  • Position involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and bending
  • Position involves safely operating a motor vehicle


ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

  • Indoor and outdoor work in all environments, including inclement weather
  • Regular travel between work sites
  • Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, bacteria, fungus, and high noise levels


IRREGULAR HOURS

  • Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
  • May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency
  • Regular attendance is required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience 
  • Five (5) years of construction related experience 
  • Knowledge of Building Systems including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, automation, security, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite and related applications 


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required within thirty (30) days of employment

  • Valid driver’s license


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Ten (10) years of Construction related experience
