This position will focus on the Traffic caseload and occasionally assist with Criminal caseload. This position requires leadership abilities. Duties include providing guidance and information to staff; responsible for case management and processing of caseloads; working with the public in routine and difficult situations; establishing/maintaining effective communication with District Court employees, District Attorney’s Office, judges, public and other agencies; working as the Administrative Assistant to the Judge for codes tickets; scheduling and preparing cases for traffic docket; analyzing daily reports; analyzing KBI/DMV reports; serving as backup to the department supervisor; and other duties as assigned.Required education and experience:Graduation from high school and one year of court or legal experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Computer experience, organizational skills, and time management skills are essential. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to understand court procedures, policies and Kansas laws and make decisions accordingly.Ability to work collaboratively with court staff and other stakeholders. Exemplary customer service skills a plus. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.Preferred qualifications:Courteous, professional and cooperative.
