Description Of Work

The Multimedia Section provides marketing support for the Marketing Division, which includes graphic design, video production, content development, media and advertising, nutrition consultative services, website management, database development and the Got to Be NC membership and brand identity program administration.

This position is responsible for assisting in the development, coordination and implementation of public relations, marketing and event planning, and programs to promote the Got to Be NC brand. This work includes drafting press releases, media alerts and pitches for media outreach, building and maintaining media contact lists to support campaigns, monitoring and tracking media and advertising campaigns to assess effectiveness.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities / Competencies

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

  • Knowledge of written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, content management and basic graphic design tools.
  • Ability to write clear and compelling copy for various media (e.g. ads, blog posts, press releases, newsletters).
  • Ability to write in AP style proficiently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to deliver information clearly and engagingly to an audience through the camera.
  • Ability to be a collaborative team player with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to be a creative thinker with the ability to adapt to changing situations.

Management Preferences

  • One year of event planning experience.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and video-editing software is preferred.
  • Experience creating digital content for newsletters, websites, blogs, email and/or social media.
  • Experience with photography and videography.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

You may qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience, either through years of education or years of directly related experience, or a combination of both.

Bachelor s degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, journalism, English, or related field from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
