Reporting to the Manager of Facilities and Fleet, the Facilities & Fleet Assistant is responsible for helping maintain the sanitation and safe function of all OBI property and assets. Duties include but are not limited to assisting with minor repairs and preventative maintenance on various mechanical and electrical systems, performing daily janitorial tasks, and providing roadside assistance where necessary. The Facilities Maintenance Assistant should feel comfortable working independently while demonstrating an aptitude for proactivity.
Essential Duties
Maintain a safe and healthy environment for OBI employees and participants
Maintain the cleanliness of OBI’s bathrooms, common areas, and grounds
Use ladders to change fluorescent and halogen lightbulbs
Attend to work orders as requested through iCare in a timely manner
Perform minor, non-mechanical, maintenance on OBI vehicles
Assist in routine building maintenance, including patching, painting, and hardware installation
Shovel snow and ice from exterior walkways during storms
Properly utilizes all cleaning supplies, chemicals and equipment in accordance with established OSHA regulations

Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of related experience in building and/or fleet maintenance
Demonstrated ability to carry out minor and routine repairs as necessary
Basic knowledge of commercial housekeeping practices, procedures and equipment
Driver’s license with no more than 3 points on driving record
Physical requirements include but are not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching; occasional lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling. Be able to lift 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
