Summary: Performs clerical and accounting functions to reconcile tax office collections, disburse funds, create files, utilize banking system, prepare and submit various reports, and reconcile bank accounts.Essential Job Functions:Ability to analyze, calculate, consolidate, reconcile and interpret accounting data, collection reports, bank statements, and identify errors. SKILL IN: create and upload bank files, perform online banking transactions, utilizing financial systems and equipment, including calculators, computers, scanner and spreadsheets. Prepares and submits reports to local government entities and state agencies. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Answers the telephone; provides assistance and information to the public regarding returned unpaid and outstanding checks. Responsible for disbursement of all monies collected. Assist with record retention and disposition. Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.

Skill in: performing special projects, financial reporting; utilizing financial systems and equipment, including calculators, computers and spreadsheets (extensive knowledge of Excel). Excellent interpersonal skills in order to interact and cooperate with co-workers, other government agencies, and the public. Ability to learn and comprehend office routines, procedures and policies; understanding of ethical and confidential issues.
Equipment Used:Personal computer; various tax office related computer programs; Microsoft Office, MS Outlook, MS TEAMS, 10-key adding machine/calculator; typewriter; other general office equipment as needed.

Working Conditions: Work is performed primarily in a climate controlled open office environment shared with other employees. Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weekends and overtime when necessary.
Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary; duties require frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 10 lbs., job duties also require occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing approximately 20 lbs.
