This position is responsible for preparing, researching, and reviewing legal documents and judgments from the Circuit and Common Pleas Court, and User Fee files.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $22.68 - $25.65

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include: creating and maintaining files for the Judgment and Executions Office, included in these files are the transactions beginning with the initiation of the Judgments, listings of assets, copy of advertisement for auctions, documentation of proper accounting procedures for the funds received and dispersed (fees collected, advertising costs, collections, money dispersed, etc.), as well as for the collection of delinquent business user fees; preparing many different types of legal judgment and user fee papers, to include calculating interest on the files for proper pay off amounts; preparing letters and correspondences for attorneys, law enforcement, and all other involved parties as required; continually reviewing cases to ensure all required rules and legal obligations are being followed; researching various issues raised during the judgment and user fee process by attorneys, law enforcement, or other outside parties, using the appropriate resources; maintaining an up to date record on all active judgment and user fee files as a tracking report to ensure all steps are documented and calculated properly; coordinating activities for the public auction of real and personal property levied upon by the Sheriff’s Office, and ensuring the proper, legal dispersion of monies collected; obtaining and verifying information relative to specific cases provided by outside parties, and members of the legal justice system to ensure accuracy. The office for this position is located at the Judicial Center, 100 Broad Street, Charleston, SC.
Minimum Qualifications
Position requires an associates degree supplemented with five (5) years of experience in legal administrative support activities or any combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.
