The Peoria Public Works Department is hiring a Fleet Manager at their Municipal Operations Center. This position is responsible for:

  • Operation, maintenance, and repair of the vehicle and equipment fleet.
  • Managing staff by planning and prioritizing tasks.
  • Prepares and administers the Fleet Maintenance annual budget.
  • Updates Fleet Maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Defines fleet replacement strategies including acquisition and disposal.
  • Manages fueling operations.
  • Completes or special projects and tasks as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Fleet Manager Certification
  • Experience in a municipal or government setting
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree requirement.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years related experience. Requires broad knowledge of complex systems and procedures related to Fleet Management.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Fleet Manager within one year of hire
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License upon hire.

Preferred/Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certified Fleet Manager
  • Experience in a municipal or government setting
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office
