The Animal Care and Customer Service Assistant is responsible for performing animal care, reception, and office support duties at the Everett Animal Shelter. Duties include receiving, caring for, and releasing animals; responding to inquiries from the public; maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility; and maintaining accurate records and files.Â

Employees in this classification must have the ability to use good judgment and are responsible for determining the correct way to handle a variety of situations. They are mainly responsible for their own assigned workload, but they may frequently provide guidance and support to Animal Shelter volunteers and may assist or train new or temporary employees. The duties of this classification are performed under the general supervision of the Animal Services Manager or designee who may review the work performed through observation, direct inspection, and conferences with employees on the basis of established performance criteria.
