Job Responsibilities

Supervises staff social service providers in the completion of various social services related tasks. Provides thorough patient assessment for related social services to help protect and promote the social welfare of individuals and communities. Compiles patient and program data as needed for required grant funded program reports. Assesses patient eligibility for existing social service resources Compiles patient and program data as needed for required grant funded program reports. Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of existing programs to ensure the identified outcome measures are achievedAssures agency compliance with policies, appropriate documentation, and reporting requirementsBuilds and encourages a cooperative team-oriented environment within unit(s) and with other agencies and providersCreates and maintains positive working relationships within the community. Facilitates communication within the unit(s)/agency on a specific case level as well as on a procedure/policy level. Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges social services employees Leads and administers a comprehensive system of referrals for public assistance, including housing assistance and other social servicesPlans, administers, and maintains the operation of social services programsReviews new and current programs to determine their efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with state, local and federal regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of job-related supervisory experience in a human service delivery program; 

OR 

Related certification and one (1) year of job-related supervisory experience in a human service delivery program; 

OR

Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Social Services Program Manager Supervisor (SSP023) or equivalent position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience working in grant-funded positions, submitting grant-related reports and other deliverables; experience working with PLWHA (People Living with HIV/AIDS), experience/knowledge providing patient assessment for social services, and experience working with a diverse population.
