WORK OBJECTIVE:

Ensures the operation and maintenance of the reclaimed water system in an efficient, cost effective, and timely manner and in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations. Work is performed under close supervision with minimal latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment.

 EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Installation and replacement of reclaimed water meters and registers within reclaimed water distribution systems

  • Performs residential and commercial reclaimed water inspections in accordance with Florida State regulations

  • Collects monthly meter reading and formats to billing system.

  • Obtains quotes from vendors; analyzes cost and quality of support for purchasing related materials

  • Ensures that products are delivered in a timely manner and that the quality of the goods received is satisfactory

  • Receives, unpacks, and stores goods and supplies; inspects goods received for conformance to quantity and quality specifications

  • Checks incoming materials against invoices or purchase orders and files requisitions

  • Maintains inventory and stock records and controls; estimates stock needs to maintain inventory levels; devises and maintains safeguards against loss, deterioration, and damage to goods; ensures that the stock room is clean and orderly

  • Ensures that equipment is maintained in proper working order

  • Maintains and prepares various reports as directed

  • Minimal

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one or more years’ purchasing, inventory and equipment maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must have a valid Florida driver's license         

 In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

 ·         Basic knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures and methods of analyzing supplies and materials inventory

·         Advanced knowledge of materials, methods and techniques used in the construction and maintenance of a reclaimed water distribution system.

·         Advanced knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding reclaimed water line construction

·         Basic knowledge of math

·         Basic knowledge of file management

·         Skill in working independently and following through with assignments with minimal supervision

·         Ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook Express

·         Ability to use basic mechanical skills to perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment

·         Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

·         Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

·         Ability to follow oral and written instructions

·         Ability to organize work for timely completion

·         Ability to regularly attend work and arrive punctually for designated work schedule

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work and may require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of heavy objects or materials (up to 80 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment.

 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks are regularly performed inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, cold, rain, fumes).

 SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks require sound and visual perception and discrimination. Tasks require oral communications ability
