About This Role
Customer Care Admin with the Animal Services Bureau typical duties include helping customers with the adoption process; reuniting lost pets with their owners; responding to customer inquiries in person, via telephone and via email; intake and triage of stray or lost pets.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D. and 3 years of administrative / clerical experience, handling cash.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working in an animal shelter environment.
- Basic knowledge of animal behavior, common animal medical conditions and breed identification.
- Experience providing administrative support in a front office environment.
- Experience with customer service.
- Experience utilizing database software.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
- Knowledge of Virginia and Prince William County Animal Laws are a plus
Special Requirements
All employees considered for hire by the Police Department are subject to a Polygraph Examination and a thorough Background Investigation. Must successfully complete a pre-employment medical evaluation.
Work Schedule
The Prince William County Animal Shelter is open 6 days a week. This position is full time, 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day). The successful candidate’s schedule will include regular weekend work.
Starting Salary Range: $29.06 - $34.19/hr. We offer great benefits including:
