About this Position

Under general direction, the Senior Center Program Coordinator's primary purpose is to develop, implement, direct, supervise, and participate in quality programs, activities, and events for senior adults of the Edmond community. The Senior Center Program Coordinator’s goal will be to enhance lives and provide excellent customer service in order to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors.

This position works from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 12 to 18 months of related experience and/or training
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the daily operation of assigned activities, programs, and events
  • Partner with other team members to research, develop, and implement activities, programs, events, and services
  • Operate multiple computer software programs including recreation management software
  • Oversee the use of audio/video equipment, computer equipment, and software
  • Assist with preparing advertising and marketing materials, including social media content and newsletters
  • Attend the vehicle accident prevention course offered by City of Edmond Risk Management Department
  • Have or obtain current First Aid and CPR training
  • Have or obtain a Fitness Training Certification and/or a Food Handlers Certification 

Necessary Certifications

  • Have or obtain current First Aid and CPR training within ninety (90) days of hire

  • Have or obtain a Fitness Training Certification and/or a Food Handlers Certification (at the direction of the department manager) within six (6) months of hire

Necessary Skills

  • Knowledge of Canva (preferred)
  • Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
  • Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
