The City of Boise is seeking an experienced, mission-driven leader to serve as Fire Chief. This executive position directs and oversees the operations, programs, and strategic initiatives of the Boise Fire Department, ensuring alignment with the city’s strategic plan and commitment to public safety, service excellence, and community well-being.
The Boise Fire Chief provides high-level leadership to more than 300 union and city employees across four divisions: Emergency Services, Support Services, Planning and Administration, and Emergency Management. With 19 fire stations serving over 300,000 residents across Boise, Garden City, and unincorporated areas, the department covers a 130-square-mile response area. The Chief is responsible for establishing departmental goals, advancing community risk reduction, fostering professional development, and prioritizing employee wellness.
