Essential Functions:

- Manages subdivision plats, development concept permits, site construction permits, and other instruments and activities related to private development within the County;
- Reviews projects for statutory and other regulatory requirements as assigned;
- Coordinates and guides internal and external agency approving authorities as to process and regulatory functions associated with private development project approval;
- Solicits, coordinates, evaluates, and consolidates review comments from other agencies and approving authorities;
- Serves as ombudsman in matters pertaining to private development project approval across County departments and exterior agencies;
- Develops, implements, and administers new strategies to project and program development approval in line with department goals and County Administrator commitments, while managing project risk to the County;
- Implements project and/or program quality control/quality management;
- Participates in code development/update processes and recommends modifications to regulations and standard operating procedures;
- Coordinates development approval with business clients and other County departments;
- Coordinates the integration of business development activities with those of other County departments and divisions;
- May supervise, train, and evaluate professional, technical, and support staff, make recommendations on hiring, termination, and related personnel activities to management, and initiate progressive discipline processes as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, project management, construction management, land planning, architecture, engineering or a related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND four years of professional experience in development project management or review.
(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)
OR:
Four years with Pima County in a Construction Project Coordinator or related position as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment INCLUDING one year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
Preferred Qualifications: (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):

Experience serving as project manager working with a variety of stakeholders (e.g., private developers and internal County departments).

Experience working on infrastructure projects that include utilities (such as water, sanitary, stormwater, dry utilities) and/or roadways.

Experience with/knowledge of land development plans or subdivision platting.

Experience interpreting and applying regulations, policies, and development codes to ensure project compliance.

Experience providing customer service.
Pay Range:
Hiring Range: $66,536 - $79,843 Annually
Pay Range: $66,536 - $93,150 Annually
Range Explanation:
Hiring Range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.
Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the position.
