Frederick County Government is seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Secretary to support the Public Works - Shawneeland Sanitary District, a unique division that blends public service with hands-on operational work. Essential Functions

What You’ll Do:

Key Responsibilities

As a Secretary, you will:

  • Serve as the primary administrative contact for the Shawneeland Sanitary District, assisting residents and supporting daily office operations.
  • Manage financial tasks including budgeting support, purchasing card reconciliation, invoice processing, and fee collection using Quicken and County systems.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take accurate minutes, and coordinate communication for the Advisory Committee and internal teams.
  • Process time records and onboarding paperwork for part-time and seasonal staff in collaboration with HR and payroll departments.
  • Maintain office supplies, organize records, and ensure cleanliness and order in shared office spaces and facilities.

Typical Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in administrative, accounting, and/or customer service environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suites and various computer tools.
  • Ability to work independently, manage confidential information, and interact with field staff and the public.
