Environmental Factors:
This position is primarily indoors, with limited outdoor exposure during site visits to construction areas and utility facilities. While indoors, the role heavily relies on computer use. When working outdoors, exposure includes construction, traffic, and utility plant operation noises, along with potential exposure to plant chemicals, construction materials, fumes, and dust. The position may also involve limited inspection work around electrical sources at field utility construction sites.
Physical Factors:
The physical demands of this role are primarily sitting for 6-8 hours daily, with minimal standing or walking (0-2 hours each). A significant portion of your day involves repetitive motions due to 6-8 hours of computer use. While strenuous manual labor isn't anticipated, you'll occasionally bend, kneel, stoop, lift, reach, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs, mainly when handling field inspection equipment. The job requires limited climbing and working at heights during utility and construction site inspections, along with rare access to confined spaces. This position needs visual acuity for computer work and reading plans, and the ability to hear clearly despite background noise from construction, traffic, and plant operations. Frequent local travel for site visits is also a core component of the role.
