Position Objective/Description:
The Washakie County Grants Director attracts and manages external grants to support the work and goals of Washakie County and the City of Worland. While assisting departments and employees in identifying funding opportunities, the director also facilitates the development and submission of proposals, interprets and guides compliance with grant requirements, provides oversight to grant finances and budget management, and facilitates post award reporting.
The person in this position should have experience in grant writing, administration, and budget management, as well as exceptional organizational and research skills. This position reports directly to the Washakie County Clerk and the County Commissioners. This is a partially grant funded position which is contingent upon funding.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, related field, or substantial relevant experience
2. Experience in grant writing, administration, and application transmission, including federal grant applications and reporting.
- Understanding of state and federal guidelines, and prefer working knowledge of grants.gov and other federal electronic databases.
- Familiarity with standard grant compliance issues and processes.
- Ability to plan budgets and provide fiscal oversight of multiple projects.
- Exceptional management, organizational, writing, and research skills.
- Ability to work independently and with discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and sometimes within a very short, restrictive timeframe.
- Ability to work collaboratively with county employees and other stakeholders to develop proposals and manage grants.
- Technology proficiency with internet, email, Excel and word processing.
