The Code Enforcement Officer performs various technical duties necessary to execute the requirements of the City’s code enforcement programs.
Employees in this class work under close supervision and with other City departments to monitor and enforce zoning, building, property maintenance, noise, abandoned vehicles, and other codes and ordinances designed to protect the residents' health, safety, and welfare and the general quality of life. The employee serves as a resource and provides information on City regulations to property owners, residents, businesses, and the general public, along with other City departments and divisions. Employees may, with adequate training, satisfactory performance evaluations, and competency in executing routine job duties, master the skills necessary to advance to the next higher-level class.
