BASIC FUNCTIONS:
In a learner capacity and under the direct supervision of the District Director, the District Intern will be responsible for general office duties including monitoring and responding to the public inbox for the Member, assisting in the development of certificates and distribution, taking in critical feedback from District constituents, and supporting the Member and District staff when attending legislative activities. Applicants must be organized, detailed, and able to work well with others.
DUTIES:
In a learner capacity and under the direct supervision of the District Director, the ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced, professional environment and assist with constituent services and casework as needed.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong oral and written communication skills are essential in addition to proficiency with Microsoft Office and PCs. Familiarity with legislative culture and process is preferred.
LOCATION, SALARY AND FILING DATE:
This position is located in Santa Barbara, CA
The Senate’s core business hours are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, scheduling for interns may need to be more flexible depending on the office needs.
Salary is $20 per hour.
