Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Assistant Building Inspector located in Henrietta, NY, involving office and field work. The Assistant Building Inspector is responsible for conducting site and residential building inspections, enforcing local Town Code, NYS Codes, and ensuring compliance with plumbing regulations. Daily tasks include inspecting new and existing construction projects, preparing reports, plan-review and other applicable necessities.

Qualifications

• Experience in Building Inspections and Site Inspections
• Skills in Code Enforcement
• Knowledge of Plumbing regulations and Inspection practices
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Relevant certifications in building inspection or code enforcement are a plus
• Previous experience in municipal or government work is beneficial

Requirements

• Valid NY Drivers License
• Must be living or in the process of moving to Henrietta or the surrounding area.
• BSI/CEO Certification must be obtained. This may be obtained after appointment.
• Passing of Civil Service Examination for job title must be completed when announced. This may be obtained after appointment.
