The Broomfield Facilities team is looking for a Journeyman HVAC to work under the Master Mechanical HVAC, performing skilled work in the general maintenance, repair and installation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. This position will also perform facilities maintenance duties related to general mechanical, plumbing and electrical work.

- Salary Range: $34.82 - $47.12/hour

Duties:
- Analyzes, troubleshoots, installs, repairs, rebuilds, adjusts and replaces heating, cooling and other mechanical equipment and components in City-owned facilities including bearings, motors, heat exchangers, air conditioning compressors, water and pneumatic valves, humidity control units, coolers, freezers, exhaust hoods, and pneumatic, electrical and electro-pneumatic and digital control systems.
- Performs general mechanical, plumbing and electrical work in the alteration and maintenance of City buildings and facilities
- Performs inspection of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, emergency generators, pool systems, fire alarm systems and fire sprinkler systems to ensure proper operation.
- Assists with managing contractual resources engaged with the City and County to maintain facilities and equipment; obtains bids and quotes; schedules work with contractors; escorts vendors through secure areas; follows up on work for compliance.
- Assists with other building maintenance tasks as needed including but not limited to painting, carpentry, moving furniture and equipment, plumbing, snow removal, electrical and fabrication work. Inspects and maintains assigned equipment and tools for proper operating condition.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school graduation or GED Equivalent - required
- Experience: 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC systems and related mechanical, electrical and plumbing necessary to support these systems.
Certifications:
- NATE Certification (Air Conditioning Service and Installation & Gas Heating Service and Installation) - required at time of hire
- EPA Universal Certification - required at time of hire
- ICC Mechanical Journeyman Certificate - required within 3 months of hire
