Inspects the construction, alteration, or maintenance of building and structures for compliance with the provisions of the Building and Housing Codes and other pertinent codes and ordinances, and for adherence to approved plans and specifications; and performs other related duties as required.
Distinguishing Characteristics
This series is distinguished from other inspectional series in that the Building Inspector independently inspects the construction, alteration or maintenance of a wide variety of buildings and structures for compliance with provisions of the Building and Housing Codes.
Grade Level Standards
Grade II: This level is distinguished by the performance of inspectional and enforcement activities relative to all types of buildings and structures, including multi-storied buildings, for compliance with provisions of the Building and Housing Codes and other pertinent codes and ordinances.
