We are pleased to announce this **NEW CONTRACT** position. This position is an essential part of our Thornton Water Project (TWP) team that will likely last 2+ years. Thus this position is ideal for an contract employee, with the potential of conversion to a regular position. As a contract employee you will accrue vacation and sick time off and enjoy paid holidays and other perks of working at the City of Thornton! Plus receive a lump sum bonus equal to 6 weeks when you stay through the end of the Thornton Water Project!
The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong engineering, permitting and management experience, tracking and field skills, large diameter pipe experience, along with a mix of heavy civil and underground work. With these skills and previous work experience you will be well prepared for success in this position.
About the Project:
The Thornton water project is the single biggest capital project in the city’s history. The project spans over 70 miles of the northern Colorado front range from the south side of Thornton to north of Fort Collins. Since the project’s vision in the mid 1980’s; spanning 45 years with the first phase of the project going live in 2028. The project is being designed and phased to deliver up to 40 million gallons of raw water a day to Thornton’s water treatment plants and is projected to serve and supplement water demands in Thornton through 2065.
