Description
Boulder County Clerk & Recorders Office is seeking to hire an
Accounting Clerk II. The Boulder County Clerk and Recorder's Office is proud to provide outstanding public service across all divisions this Office oversees: Motor Vehicle, Recording, and Elections. Driven by our mission of service and operational excellence, we’re excited to bring a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Accounting Clerk II into our team. This role is an integral member of a collaborative team dedicated to ensuring the accurate and timely completion of financial processes. Beyond performing moderately complex clerical accounting tasks, this position also involves direct public service—supporting individuals facing financial challenges with compassion, empathy, and accountability. Additionally, the role requires building effective working relationships with co-workers within Clerk and Recorder Office and the Treasurer's Office, particularly in verifying and resolving discrepancies during end-of-day balancing.
This is a
full-time, benefited position that will work
Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 5:30pm. This position will work out of
1750 33rd St., Boulder, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is
non-exempt.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $50,004.00 - $58,608.00 Annually
Tentative Hiring Timeline

Examples of Duties
- Compliance:
- Required to research, understand, and meet Department of Revenue Motor Vehicle legislative compliance and rules
- Ensure confidentiality of public members' information
- Comply with all cyber security requirements, trainings, and procedures
- Reconciliation:
- Balance daily transactions to funds deposited, utilizing General Ledger and State Motor Vehicle system
- Reconcile and finalize monthly accounting summaries, general ledgers, and statistical reports
- Create and distribute monthly revenue reports
- Assist Clerk & Recorder employees regarding, accounting issues, policies, and procedures
- Daily and Monthly Auditing:
- Complete random audits of cash on hand at all Clerk & Recorder locations
- Perform daily and monthly audits of Motor Vehicle transactions
- Collections and Disbursement of Funds:
- Complete and maintain all aspects of Return Check processing
- Works with the public in a respectful and empathetic manner, helping to identify solutions and establish payment arrangements
- Track and implement collection for balances due to motor vehicle accounts
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations

Education & Experience
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a
high school diploma or equivalent and
2 (two) years of experience in clerical accounting or bookkeeping.

- Vacation and Medical leave are based off of full time FTE accruals. Part-time FTE/term employees accrue leave based on the percentage of time they work.
