The City of Portland is seeking a skilled and creative Marketing Multimedia Specialist to join our growing Communications & Marketing team. This position plays a key role in supporting the City’s tourism and destination marketing initiatives by producing engaging digital content, managing branded social media platforms, and maintaining a consistent and dynamic public presence for the Visit Portland and Fifth & Elm brands.
Under the direction of the Director of Communications & Marketing, the Marketing Multimedia Specialist will produce high-quality photography, videography, and written content that tells the story of Portland, Texas by highlighting its people, places, and experiences. The role requires a strong visual eye, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple creative projects across platforms.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for community storytelling, brand building, and creative marketing. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. Whether covering local events, updating websites, planning content calendars, or editing videos, the Marketing Multimedia Specialist helps bring Portland’s story to life one post, photo, and campaign at a time.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow Visit Portland brands’ social media presence (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) with engaging, timely, and brand-aligned content.
- Capture and produce high-quality photos and videos for use across web, social media, print, and advertising platforms.
- Draft scripts and edit short- and long-form videos that showcase Portland’s tourism attractions, events, and community charm.
- Maintain and update content on the VisitPortlandTexas.com website to ensure accuracy, freshness, and visual appeal.
- Write compelling copy for posts, newsletters, web pages, advertising, and promotional campaigns.
- Assist with the creation of marketing and promotional materials for tourism-focused events and initiatives.
- Support and maintain brand consistency across all platforms for Visit Portland, Fifth & Elm, and the City of Portland.
- Monitor analytics and social trends to adjust strategies and report on performance metrics.
- Manage digital asset libraries and coordinate the organization of photography and videography archives.
- Collaborate with departments and external partners on event promotion, campaign planning, and creative projects.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. • At least two (2) years of relevant experience in marketing, branding, content creation, or journalism.
Additional Requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic website CMS platforms. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • A collaborative spirit and commitment to public service.
