The City of Marengo (pop. 7,637), a progressive community located in southwest McHenry County, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Utility Worker. This is a full-time, hourly position. Starting range: $24.82- $32.57 per hour.
This position is responsible for the daily operations of the City’s water/wastewater system. Duties include collecting samples, making reports, repairing main breaks and other routine maintenance.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and two years of water/wastewater operations experience. Applicant must possess or obtain a CDL B within six months of employment. Desirable attributes include knowledge and comprehension of water/wastewater treatment and operations. Individual needs to have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well with others, and promote team environments.
