The Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment is seeking a
dedicated professional to serve as the Public Health Emergency
Preparedness (PHEP) Coordinator for Cape Cod and the Islands. This
grant-funded position, which reports to the Emergency Preparedness
Director, is central to the county?s public health emergency readiness
efforts. The ideal candidate will independently manage key
responsibilities, including ensuring the timely completion of all PHEP
deliverables issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health
(MDPH) and overseeing the Cape Cod Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) program.
The coordinator?s duties also involve supporting regional public health
emergency response initiatives like the Barnstable County Regional
Shelter Plan, leading workshops, drills, and public education sessions
to enhance volunteer and regional response capabilities. Bachelor?s
degree in public health, emergency preparedness or emergency management.
Registered Nurse preferred. 3 to 5 years of experience in a public
health or emergency preparedness related field. Or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Experience with volunteer
coordination and regional planning. Certifications: FEMA ICS 100, 200,
