This position is located in Weaverville, CA and is required to be in person. Interviews will be conducted in person.
Under general supervision, to provide client transporting services for scheduled and unscheduled trips; to ensure proper maintenance of assigned vehicles; and to do related work as required.

Conducts pre-trip safety check of an assigned vehicle, ensuring proper operating condition of safety features; provides direct transportation services for clients, including performance of “on-call” duty, as needed; obeys traffic laws; picks-up and delivers passengers; monitors the maintenance of assigned motor pool vehicles, arranging for servicing and repairs, as appropriate; coordinates client appointments with counseling staff; maintains various reports/driving logs of daily activities and performs courier runs to the courthouse, and or pharmacies.

Training and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
- Some previous experience providing transportation services, preferably including experience in evaluating vehicle condition and maintenance.
Special Requirements: - Possession of an appropriate of a valid California Driver’s License with appropriate passenger endorsement, if necessary.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; operate a vehicle safely; operate various office equipment including telephone, copier, and FAX.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in driving environment; some work is performed outdoors in varying temperatures; exposure to hazardous materials, smoke, gasses, and fumes; exposure to hazards such as moving machine parts and electrical current; continuous contact with other staff and the public; work may involve stressful situations that include dealing with erratic and sometimes threatening behavior.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICSThis is a specialized Transportation Aide classification. Incumbents are responsible for providing client transportation services for clients of County programs.
REPORTS TOHealth and Behavioral Health management and supervisory staff, as assigned.
