The purpose of this job is to review commercial site plans, subdivision plans, zoning permits, special and conditional use permits for compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
This position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
- Prepare and present staff analysis for subdivisions, rezoning, text amendments, use permits, and variances.
- Assist applicants through various City permitting processes.
- Reviews and process sign and zoning permit applications.
- Reviews site plans at various stages of subdivisions.
- Conducts research and assist with information requests.
- Performs related work as required.
Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.Requires a Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, engineering, public administration or closely related field and some experience of professional planning or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must possess and maintain an appropriate, valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
