**POSITION DESCRIPTION**
The Accounting Manager is part of City of Cañon City's Finance Department which consists of 3 divisions,
Accounting, Procurement, and Revenue Management (Accounts Receivable, Tax and Utility Billing). The
Accounting Manager will oversee one or more of the divisions within the Department.
This position assists in preparing and overseeing the annual financial and compliance audits as well as
preparation of the City's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. This position must work well
independently and with teams, while providing excellent, respectful customer service and human relations
skills, which support the City of Cañon City's mission and values.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field from an accredited college or
university
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Four (4) years progressively responsible experience in public finance, accounting, or related field.
