Lincoln County Animal Shelter is looking for a new manager to help navigate the new animal shelter changes and to support staff and the community during this exciting time. This person will supervise, manage, and participate in all aspects of animal services operations. Ensure that proper care and attention is provided to all animals in the shelter's custody in accordance with policies, procedures and any laws that may apply. As the leader of the shelter, this role is also responsible for planning, organizing, and developing programs within animal services operations.
$69,790.00 - $93,793.00 annually*

Operational Oversight
- In consultation with the Sheriff and staff, develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Participate in all aspects of kennel operations, including but not limited to, customer service, transport, cleaning, purchasing supplies, intake, outreach, adoptions, redemptions, licensing, euthanasia, and animal behavior modification and enrichment.
Employee Oversight
- Supervise and perform necessary animal services duties
Administrative
- Work closely with veterinarians to develop and implement appropriate disease prevention, control, and health protocols for the shelter population.
- Responsible for preparing and controlling the budget.
- Work closely with other animal welfare and community organizations.
- Promote the Animal Shelter in a positive direction.
- Instrumental in media relations, fundraisers, and outreach programs.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma / GED
Experience
Four-Five years dealing with the public and in the care and handling of animals, including but not limited to dogs and cats.
CERTIFICATIONS
Must obtain certificate issued by the State of Oregon to perform euthanasia within one year of employment.
DRIVER'S LICENSE
Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days of hire.
Knowledge Of
- All aspects of animal services operations to include pertinent laws, rules, and regulations
- Animal care and handling as well as the ability to oversee and perform euthanasia
Skill Or Ability To
- Oversee and perform euthanasia.
- Prepare reports, budgets, and keep records.
- Operate motor vehicles.
- Convey information, ideas, and facts both orally and in writing to supervisors, colleagues, and individuals, inside and outside the county, using language and a format the audience will best understand.
- Utilize computers and other technology to communicate in written and verbal forms (e.g., word processing, texts, emails, spreadsheets, department-specific software).
