The City of Saratoga Springs currently has a position open a full time, exempt Deputy Fire Chief in the Fire Department.
Performs a variety of midlevel management, general administrative and advanced technical firefighting duties related to protecting life and property of city residents. Manages daytoday operations of an assigned division, including but not limited to fire suppression, rescue, hazardous materials containment, fire investigation, emergency medical response, etc.
This positions is responsible for responding to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous materials, urban rescue and wildland interface, other calls to protect life and property; to participate in fire prevention and training; and to maintain the fire station and firefighting equipment to be used in rendering aid in calls for service.
A Deputy Chief directs emergency scene operations in an assigned area and supervises or performs specialized functions in support of Fire Department operations. Provides immediate to dose supervision to Battalion Chief(s),Captain(s), Lieutenant(s), Critical Care Paramedic(s), Paramedic(s), Advanced EMT (s), and trainee(s).
